Lemhi Ventures invests exclusively in companies with innovative ideas that change the infrastructure and practices of the health care services industry. We are interested in working with people who think about health care services differently, rather than those focused on making incremental improvements to the existing system.
Investment Principles
At the heart of our investments are three key principles:
- Marketization. We believe that the long-term solution to the financial and operational challenges of health care is a more competitive marketplace. In almost every other industry, free and efficient markets have resulted in quality improvement, greater efficiency, and lower costs. We seek promising companies that embrace the increased marketization of health care services.
- Disruption. We believe in disruptive change. The innovative approaches to health care we seek will necessarily be faster and more flexible in delivering more efficient systems and better value to consumers than the status quo. We want to work with entrepreneurs who have developed new ways to deliver quality and value. Through our financial and intellectual investments, we will bring these ideas to market and to scale.
- Great, new companies. We believe that venture capital is the single most effective means of creating disruptive change. The companies in which we invest do not carry the burden of legacy infrastructures, inefficient business models, or the need to protect current market share or revenues. Instead, they are rewarded for creating new markets, developing new products and services, and attracting new customers. Our focus is on companies that disrupt current systems by delivering an entirely different value proposition.
