“Thinking as a group is different than group-think. When we work together to discuss a potential investment, our focus is on reaching the best decision, not the lowest common denominator of agreement.”
Tony MillerI build leadership teams. When I transitioned from entrepreneur to CEO, I made many rookie mistakes. Fortunately they weren’t fatal. One of my roles is to coach others on how to learn to be a CEO and how to build an effective management team.
Passionate | Focused | Discerning | Imaginitive | Opportunistic

I really enjoy the analytic work of understanding business problems. The imagination that enables an entrepreneur to create a business out of a spark of inspiration is very exciting. At heart, I have the values and work ethic you would expect of someone who grew up in the Midwest. For me, the satisfaction is as much in doing the hard work of digging into the numbers, defining concrete benchmarks and understanding a business, as it is inquote the genius of the idea. I believe the old adage that success is ten percent inspiration and ninety percent perspiration. Maybe it’s more like one and ninety-nine.

Lemhi has an unusually sharp focus: disruptive change in healthcare services. I find the ways in which healthcare organizations and companies cope with regulatory and operational constraints very interesting. Between our principals and our entrepreneurs-in-residence, we have nearly a century of accumulated experience and wisdom. That’s a tremendous resource on which to draw, and it enables us to help our investment partners find good business solutions to complicated problems.
